When the big, beautiful cuts of beef, chicken, pork, and fish began to run out on store shelves during the coronavirus pandemic, you could bet President Donald Trump would rush to help preserve the wonderful American meat production industry.
According to the Associated Press, the White House announced Tuesday that President Trump will sign an executive order to ensure the United States’ meat processing plants will remain open during the crises.
In conjunction with the Defense Production Act, the order classifies meat production and processing as vital infrastructure and is issued as the health and financial fallout from COVID-19 causes shortages and breaks in the nation’s supply chain.
Several well-known meat companies have shut down or suspended operations after workers were hospitalized or died due to the virus. Tyson Foods even recently took out full-page ads in some of the country’s biggest newspapers to warn the public that “the food supply chain is breaking.”
An anonymous White House official told the AP that Trump’s meat order is to prevent a potential 80% drop in meat supply at grocery stores and supermarkets nationwide, which were the administration’s current projections.
After the announcement of Trump’s order to save the meats, top Vegas election betting sites updated their odds and the President’s reelection chances received a bit of a protein boost against Joe Biden.

Will Trump Beat Biden’s Meat?
On Tuesday, Las Vegas increased Donald Trump favored margin to defeat Democratic nominee Joe Biden, based on the updated betting odds to win the 2020 presidential election from Bovada online sportsbook.
A wager of $120 on Trump -120 will return the initial bet and payout $100 if the GOP incumbent is elected to four more years in the White House. Additionally, the line from Vegas oddsmakers means the sportsbook predicts Trump has a 54% chance to win re-election on November 3.
Biden +120 got bumped down peg from his previous +115 at Bovada, but that’s good news for bettors interested in backing Trump’s opponent for the general election.
Now, a bet of $100 on Biden to beat Trump will win $120 (instead of $115) if the former Vice President pulls off the upset and surpasses the 270 electoral votes need to be elected President of the United States.
Whether Trump beats Biden’s meat on Election Night 2020 is unknown, but as of today, the odds are in the President’s favor.
