According to President Trump, there is no time for another Presidential debate before early voting starts. However, the vice-presidential debate scheduled for Oct 1 at 9 pm EST will surely draw some added attention as the two candidates are prepared to spar for 90 minutes.
Ohio State Senator JD Vance will represent team Trump, and his debate woe, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will represent team Harris. Both men have agreed to the conditions of the debate, which will be moderated by “CBS Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell and “Face of the Nation” host Margaret Brennan.
Will The Debate Be Fact Checked?
Both candidates have agreed to fact-check their opponent in real-time, and CBS will not intervene. However, CBS has stated that it will fact-check the candidates on its live blog and on the air during the post-debate analysis.
2024 Presidential candidates Trump and Harris were fact-checked in real-time at the only Presidential debate in 2024. However, the tactic drew criticism from Trump and his team, as Trump seemed more fact-checked than Kamala Harris.
CBS stated that it will be up to the opponents to point out misstatements by the other and that the moderators may facilitate those opportunities but will not fact-check during the debate.

In the end, it’s only the Veep debate, and it will likely draw far less viewership than the previous two Presidential debates.
