The race for the White House is in full swing, with just over two weeks until election day, and some would say that Democratic candidate Kamala Harris is going backward, at least in the odds.
Last night, Harris appeared on FOX News to be interviewed by Bret Baier. Harris was grilled on the border and other issues concerning the 2024 election. In the clip below, you can see that the interview was heated. After a cordial greeting, Bailer went straight to immigration.
Harris eventually expressed her apologies to the families affected by crimes caused by illegal immigrants but fell short of accepting responsibility. Harris went on to claim that the current immigration policy is broken and was broken before Trump ever took office.
After several minutes of back-and-forth arguing over immigration, the topic pivoted to economic policies. One of the big takeaways from the 30-minute FOX interview was that Harris claimed not to be a continuation of Biden’s Presidency.
Trump Goes On Univision Town Hall
While Harris was facing tough questions from FOX News, Republican Candidate Donald Trump was hosting a Univision Town Hall, and he was also presented with tough questions. Some of the issues brought forth by former President Trump were immigration and the January 6th attack on the capital.
Trump was also presented with questions in both English and Spanish concerning climate change, gun control, and abortion rights, and his claims about Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio. While critics claim he avoided the most challenging questions, his supporters believe the Town Hall was successful and could sway some undecided Latino voters.
Odds Shift Further In Trump’s Favor
After the Town Hall and Harris’s FOX News interview, online sportsbooks offering odds on the 2024 Presidential election indicated that Trump is now a heavy favorite. Trump’s odds to win the Presidency went from -135 to -155 overnight. Harris’s odds went from +125 to +135, indicating she is the underdog with almost three weeks until election day.
While the polls still show Harris as the likely popular vote winner, electoral votes awarded by states decide the path to the White House. New polls indicate that Trump has a much more favorable path to victory if he can secure some swing states like Georgia or Pennsylvania. However, if any red state flips blue, the path to Trump’s success grows slim.
